A fond farewell and other things

The day has come that I never even dreamed would happen. When I read the news about it, it just about broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes. It was a tragic day. What has happened lately in my life to turn it upside down in so upsetting a manner? BORDERS BOOK STORE IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!! Are you kidding me? Yeah yeah, I know we still have Barnes and Noble, and they're a great bookstore, too, but Borders was my store!!
You might already know this about me, but if not, let me tell you something. I get quite attached to things and then it's hard for me to just let it go when it meant something to me. So am I loosing just a bookstore? No way! I've been going there since I was a little kid, and we've had a Borders in walking distance ever since we moved here when I was 7.
I've had midnight Harry Potter book releases there through the years; I've gone there when I had free time to just sit and read; and I always go there and get totally excited at all the different things there are I could read and learn and find. Anyway, I was so sad to find out that this was all going to go away!
But don't you worry, I've been there several times since I heard the news to be able to spend a final few hours in my favorite store. And now a moment of silence.......

Something else that came to a close recently was David and our neighbors basketball season. The "Imperial Guards" won some and lost some, but I think they've had fun this summer.

Dad, Mom, and Kelani went to girl's camp this past week and had a blast! Mom brought home some of these white mariposa lillies and asked me to take some pictures of them 'cause she loves them. So here's one of the pictures I got. They're pretty little flowers.
And to finish up, our chicken Pippy hatched a little chick! There was more than one egg but this is the only one that hatched this time. Isn't it a cute little cheeper?

I love those flowers too. We were up at pomerel (I have no clue how to spell it) and I picked some. My father in law told me it was illegal to pick them. I don't know if that is true but it made them even more special. I used to go there with Kaye and get their triple chocolate hot chocolate. I am sad about it to especially because it was attached to the mall. :)
