Of Babyshowers and Cousin Parties

Happy Sunday! How has life been as you've all started back into the month after Christmas?
Mom and I had a fun little road trip to Twin Falls this past Friday so that we could go to a baby shower for one of my cousins. Heather has three little girls and is just about to have their first boy!!
I think one of the things we all loved most about this baby shower was that it was an open house and free of awkward games like, "Guess the length of toilet paper that will fit around the 8 1/2 month pregnant tummy!" (Sorry if there are any readers out there who totally love that game, I'm not trying to hurt feelings. :)
Heather is doing a "monster" themed room for Baby Bruce Wayne. Ok, she really isn't naming him after Batman, even though her sister has offered her money to do so. The decorations and even the food at the shower were all done monster style and it was so cute.

Present opening time!

Here's the "before" picture of her, we'll get the "after" one in the next few weeks!

After the shower Mom and I went over to Heather's house and stayed the night there. Two of Heather's sisters came over, too, and the party just kept going. Heather and Becky had made strawberry shortcake ka-bobs for the occasion and they were delish.

Mom is in heaven with her little ka-bob! :)

Harley decided to ditch every part of the treat except for the canned whipped cream. She's my kind of girl! Brittney and Harley kept climbing into my lap as we were sitting around the table so I hid behind Harley and took this extremely up-close and personal shot of the girlies; they're so much fun!!

After we nearly polished off all of the treats we ended up in the living room and played "Catch Phrase" for a while. Becky and I, who were always thick as thieves growing up, were sitting there cracking each other up the whole night and I haven't laughed that hard for a long time!! It was so funny to hear the kinds of jokes that were inspired as we played that game. Without admitting any particular time, I'll just confess that we all stayed up waaay too late that night, but it was a good time.

In the morning Heather made French toast and bacon for us and her family before we headed home. The bacon also served as the appetizer as the little girls kept running to the kitchen for another piece as they waited for the French toast to be ready. We are talking about bacon here, though, so can you blame them?
Halle and Brittney in bacon ecstasy!
There's never a dull moment when we're with the cousins so we had a good time on our little outing. Next time I see them, hopefully the new baby will be here! I can't wait to meet him and I'm glad the cousins keep the supply of babies in the family in a perpetual state of addition, it will be fun to help add to that one day! :) We even found out that one of our aunts is expecting again, bringing the total number of grandkids up to 26!

Well, here we go on a brand new week! College is starting up again and Malia and I are both about to delve into the new semester. Enjoy your week and good luck with whatever it is you get to do!

Tiana! I am so glad that you go to all the parties that I CAN'T go to, so that you can document and fill me in! Oh man, I really missed out this time! It looks like you guys had so much fun...I'm so jealous! You'll also need to plan another trip to Rexburg for a visit! Heaven knows we've got the room ;)
