Of Missionaries

Here we go with another part of what happened this summer.
So we have some of the best friends EVER and in fact, they are really just family to us so it was a little crazy when it was time to say goodbye to the missionary.
If you've seen very many of my posts in the past, you've probably heard about David and Spencer and the insane (usually quite funny) things they get into together. They're a like in so many ways that it's pretty much like having two brothers. Our families are always laughing at the things these guys come up with when they're together.
Well, ''back in the day", David and I were on a road trip with the Ingrams for a performance in Malad - 2007, to be exact. We went to church before we came home to Boise and when we saw the boys all dressed up for church we were like, "Hey! You look like some pretty cool future missionaries. Let's take a picture." :)
And now, in August of 2012, here's our little brothers who are looking very much like some pretty cool future missionaries. In fact, we took this about a week before Spencer left on his mission for South Africa.
This felt like a partial 'sibling' picture, too (minus most of my family....) that we took at Spencer's last night at our Irish dance class.
Anyway, with Spencer leaving it's just making it that much more real that David will be leaving soon, too. It's so great that these boys are raised knowing that someday they get to go out and serve a mission for two years. Even though I'm not a mom, I've heard from so many missionary moms about how hard but so exciting it is for their boys to go on missions. I'm glad David is so excited, and he really is, and I know he's going to be awesome!!

Here's a few personal faves of these guys:
Conference weekend at the Cabin 2010
                                                        Conference weekend 2011
Here we all are for the first year of the cabin!
Anyway, it's pretty cool that it's actually time for these guys to do what they've known they'd do all their lives. David was cleaning out his room the other day (another miracle, if I say so myself) and he un-earthed a bunch of old things that he bequeathed to me. Yikes! Is he really leaving in 2 months?!
Mom, like all good missionary moms, is already starting to miss him. But I think David has taken on a pretty legit plan to make his parting easier to handle. He's been extra annoying (but only in jest) lately and as he was joking around with us about something today, I laughed as I pointed out that I was on to his plan. He never did deny it..... :)

Oh that David. He really is supposed to be 8! But then I think, nope Carter is 8! And tomorrow it will be Carter leaving. I'm just like your mom, I'm missing Carter already and we have a few years. David is going to be such a great missionary. And what a great family he has to send him support while he's away.
