Happy Thanksgiving

How was your Thanksgiving?
Ours was another good one! We went to Jerome from Thursday to Saturday and we filled it (and ourselves) with all kinds of good things. Malia did have to stay here in Boise to work, but I think she was happy to make a little extra money for working over the holiday.

We ate at the Farm and a couple of my dad's brothers and their families came over for the big lunch. It's a little different to have holiday get togethers as we get older, things are way quieter and slightly calmer. Another thing that changes is the length of time. When we were little and had to wait clear until 1:00 (or whenever) to have lunch, it seemed like FOREVER and that we would most likely die of hunger before they called us for dinner. It was something to be proud of if you could snitch a bit of turkey or some veggies without getting caught by a grown-up.
One year when we were all pretty little, one of the grown-ups went into Grandma's utility room where she was storing all her pies for after dinner. They were surprised to discover that each of the several pumpkin pies had a big finger swipe down the middle - the culprit was easily identified as our pumpkin pie loving cousin, Ian. :)
Uncle Dave and his family brought all those tasty looking fruit and veggie trays and we got to snack on them while we waited for lunch.
Grandma whipping up a few pans of rolls!
                                                      Don't they look ravenous? :)
My aunt has been raising turkeys all year so that each sibling could have a "home-grown" turkey for their Thanksgiving. It tasted so good! And she did a great job with them. The one my uncle cooked was so big that it bent his oven rack.
Uncle Dave got a laugh as he grabbed these leftover pieces of pizza out of Grandma's fridge to add to the food line. She was so busy though that she hardly even noticed - but she did end up getting a laugh out of it.
And of course, the wonderful dessert table! That's not even all of the treats that she made. There were several pies in several varities, plus I got a new favorite that she tried this year - chocolate trifle with home-made toffee on top )that's it on the very end on the right)! More please!!
 Baby Lincoln's first Thanksgiving!

On Friday we got to do something way fun and drive to Burley to meet up with our good friends, the Kays. We haven't seen them since they moved in June and we've sure missed them! It didn't take long for Dad to start wrestling the boys.
I've been waiting to see little Emmy again. Everytime I see a picture of her or hear about her, I just want to hold her. So luckily for us she was pretty content to let us pass her around among us girls. She even fell asleep while I took a turn with her and it was so fun just to hold her finally!
We went to lunch with them at their family-owned restaurant, Papa Kelseys. If you're ever in Twin or Burley, definitely make sure you stop to eat there. It's super tasty!
 Here we are!
It was lots of fun to hang out with them for part of the day!
Anyway, throughout the rest of our stay in Jerome I got to go watch the last Harry Potter with my aunt and a couple cousins; David and Dad hung out in Hagerman with one of David's work friends who was home for Thanksgiving, then that night David went on a date with the friend's sister; on Saturday a few of us and some cousins went and walked down the canyon between Twin and Jerome; and then Saturday evening we all met up with the youth from our ward to do temple baptisms. It was awesome! I haven't done baptisms since the Boise temple closed in July, so I loved being able to go back to the temple. And I LOVE the Twin Falls temple, so that was fun. Plus my grandma is a temple worker and she got to be with us while we were there - always cool to see your family in the temple!
And now it's December and that can only mean that more good things are on the way!
