Every cloud has a silver...ball-bearing?

A couple nights ago, Kelani and I were in our room getting ready to go to bed and Nani set something on her little desk. She turned around and a second later there was a loud crash. We looked over and the huge bag of nail polish that used to be sitting on the desk, had tipped over and fallen on the floor. Tons of the polish bottles had fallen out, and one of the red bottles had broken and splattered all over the other bottles, the polish bag, and the floor!

It was right around mid-night, but Dad (who had been about to go to sleep in his room) came in to see what was going on. He stayed and helped us try to get the polish out of the carpet. He tried pouring nail polish remover on it, but nothing worked. I went downstairs to get the vacuum so I could clean up the broken pieces of the bottle. David was with Mom, who was downstairs doing laundry (ok, so our family isn't very good about going to bed early!) and when she saw me hauling the vacuum upstairs, she stopped and looked at me like I might have lost it. She asked what I was doing, so I casually told her that I felt like doing some light house work.

Penni was one of the only ones in the house smart enough to be asleep before midnight. She was under a blanket on my bed and was awake long enough to see what was going on. But she didn't let the noise of the vacuum keep her from getting her beauty rest.
But, don't let this long, crazy story get you down! As were sitting on the floor wiping off the other bottles that had been coated in red polish, Kelani found the little ball-bearing that goes in the polish bottles to help stir it up when you shake it.
She let out a cry of pure happiness as she picked it up,
"Cool! I've always wanted one of these!"
See, who didn't know everything would turn out fine in the end?

yeah, we still have a spot on our carpet from nail polish. Scary stuff, that.
