I'm still here! It's been kind of a whirl wind the last few weeks, but life is good! Since the last post, here's just a few things that have been going on in our lives: The week after general conference, my great-grandma (my dad's grandma) passed away. Of course we miss her, but she was ready to go and it was a blessing.
But a few days before the funeral (in Jerome) my grandpa (my dad's dad) ended up in the hospital because of some chest pains and dizziness. They found out that it was because he was extremely anemic and bleeding internally. Long story short, they found and removed a tumor on his colon, but he has also been diagnosed with colon cancer and will be starting chemo in a few weeks.
All of it was really hard, but having the gospel and having family and friends to support each other has made a huge difference! I was amazed with my grandpa at how positive and happy he still was. When we walked into his hospital room to visit, he was sitting in a chair by his bed wearing his hospital gown, hospital socks, using an oxygen tube, and to top it all off he had on his "Farnsworth Mortuary" baseball cap!! It was great! He's home now and feeling really good and we're just all so thankful for answered prayers. He also made up his own version of the Jewish song, "Hava Nagila" which went, "Hava, hava anemia..." Yeah, he's quite the composer. :)
Anyway, this past weekend Dad and I went to Jerome and stayed at the Farm because I performed with IDI at Twin Falls' Highland Games. It was so much fun!! We had a couple performances throughout the day that both went really well, and even most of the little mess-ups were entertaining.
Since all of my dad's family live in the Magic Valley alot of my family came and watched, which was so nice of them. It's fun to look out into the audience and see my dad, grandparents, cousins, second cousins, and an uncle and aunt all out there!
In between performances a few of us went over to take a look at Shoshone Falls, which was beautiful! So of course we took a minute for a little photo shoot. :)
"You got tickets to this gun show?"
We finished dancing then went out to eat with the Ingrams and one of our dance pals, Anna Sue. We took them on the "scenic route" through J-Town aka Jerome, then headed home for Boise.
This is one of the awesome scenes from the drive home. I love it that spring is really trying to get here, and it's getting so close. It's one of my favorite things to see our part of the world start coming back to life and filling up with color again! I've been so lucky that I've grown up with the drive from Boise to Jerome because I've come to love almost everything I see on the way. It was such a fun day and one of those ones that just kind of stick with you and make you smile, even years down the road.
Here's a fun new family picture that a friend took of us today after church with Grandma and Grandpa Farns, and Mom's mom Grandma Jack!
Happy Sunday!
