Cleaning philosophies of a 16 year old guy

In our family, all four of us siblings take turns doing various chores each week. It might not be pleasant, but it's only fair. The problem is that sometimes one person's chores can hold up the other person from accomplishing a chore they've been assigned. For example, if it's my turn to load the dishwasher, and Malia's turn to un-load it, she might not "get around to it" until there are more dishes on the counter than there are in the cupboards. Meaning, my job of loading takes FOREVER!!
Then, if you're lucky, you get chores that, even though they should be done everyday, they're not as noticable if you go a couple days (or the whole week) without ever doing them - things like, wiping down the microwave, or cleaning the top of the stove. The worst one is when it comes around to your turn to *hem hem* clean up the backyard (we own three dogs).
Generally what happens is whoever's turn it is does it once or twice a week (at the most), and so by the time one of our parents finally notices (usually Dad) that our yard looks like it's covered in tiny landmines, whoever's turn it is that week gets stuck with a pretty crappy job (literally). Unless it's bad enough that we just divide and conquer and all go out together to "clean up".
But after all these years of chores and lectures on how we need to do them, the truth finally came out.
Today I swept, then started mopping. But thanks to the kind of mop we have, it reaches places that the broom just won't go. So even though I think I've gotten everything swept away, the mop finds more! So I was expressing my frustration with the whole situation to David, as he sort of stood by watching. But as he walked off, he casually said, "That's why you should do what I do. Just don't ever sweep or mop and you won't have to worry about it." Hmmm, if only........
