Adventures with the Twins

Ethan, Maddie, Lanie, Me, Audrey, and Dillon
Maddie, Mo, Ethan, Dillon, Lanie, and Audery

Ok, so Angi and Jared brought their five kids with them and asked Morgan (Lizzy's little sister) and I if we could watch the kids-mostly the youngest ones the twins-during the wedding. So we made our way over to the visitor's center again and were going to show the kids all the neat things in there.
Anyway, it was a near miracle that we made it that far, because Ethan and Audrey, the 4 year olds, were pretty much all over. We got there though, and while some of the kids wanted to go get a drink, others of them took off to look at some of the displays, and Ethan discovered the escalator. Mo had been invited to hang out with some of Jake's family, so I told her to go and that I'd keep track of the kids. Anyway, Ethan and Audrey found out that it's fun to sit and ride down the escalator until they got almost to the bottom, then they'd stand up, get off, then turn around and get on the "up" escalator. Or, even better, they'd try to crawl up the "down" one!

So while I tried to get ahold of them, at least one of them always managed to get away and go for another ride. It's hard to decide what made things even better:

A) I had two camera bags (one that weighed a ton) on my shoulders, that would swing around and try to fall off every time I tried to catch the twins.

B) The poor, old receptionist lady at the bottom of the escalators almost had a coronary when she saw the twins sitting on the escalators. So she spent half the time telling me not to let them sit, and the other half standing there watching.

or

C) The sister missionaries who also stood at the bottom, watching all of this, while trying to get me to go watch one of the movies that was about to start! :)

Anyway, it wasn't exactly peaceful, but I think the kids had fun. And at least I got to spend time with my cousins. Luckily the two oldest girls helped me chase the younger ones down. Once we got back outside (we left before anyone had a chance to kick us out!) another pair of missionaries met us outside and offered to take a picture of all of us (probably to put on America's Most Wanted). We did eventually make it back over to the Temple before Liz and Jake came out, so that was a relief! But I think I made some new buddies with the twins, they get pretty excited when they see me now, so that's fun!! :)
